Social entrepreneurship starts with a challenge: how can entrepreneurial thinking be used to create lasting positive change?
In this lesson, you'll explore what social entrepreneurship means and how social entrepreneurs develop sustainable solutions to social and environmental problems. You'll also discover the different forms social enterprises can take—from nonprofits with earned income to purpose-driven businesses, cooperatives, and community-owned enterprises.
Most importantly, you'll see that there is no single path or profile for becoming a social entrepreneur. People from many different backgrounds, sectors, and experiences can use entrepreneurship to address the problems they care about.
